Helen Ispirian

Helen Ispirian - earlier Walter-Kurkjian, - was born in Ulm/Germany, is the second daughter of Manuel and Irmgard. She is working as a freelance artist (music, film, theatre) in Berlin and Moscow.
Helen is the initiator of the project "Homeport", which is taking all three family members on a journey into Manuel’s past. She will have the function of directing the story – as an off-voice as well as - if needed - in the picture.

Already at the age of ten Helen began to question her bicultural identity. In 2001 Helen traveled to Armenia. Her first visit to Beirut was in 2011 for a research trip, which was when she first discovered her unknown relatives.
Helen soon realised that if you find one Armenian relative in the world, they multiply quite fast …she is the one holding all the threads and is communicating with relatives in Lebanon, in England, Canada and in the USA....

The film shootings took place in 2013. As there was not enough funding for the postproduction, the project has been frozen at the moment.
