ARSEN KURKJIAN

Born in Aleppo/Syria about 1928.Manuels uncle, brother from Manuels mother Araxe.
He immigrated in 1952, after the death of his father, from Syria to Lebanon. He had temporarily – like Manuel’s brother George as well – a false, Lebanese identity in order to find work.
Arsen lives with his wife quietly in Bourj Hammoud, the Armenian quarter in Beirut.
He kept close contact with Manuel’s parents, who lived in Beirut as stateless Palestinian refugees until their death. Arsen and Manuel, who spent some time together time in early years, i.e. in the 40-50s, have developed their personalities in very different directions. In the film we will explore, what each of them has to share after all those years and which memories they share about the political events.
